Summer in Buffalo means time outdoors—hiking, beach days, road trips, and backyard barbecues. It’s the season of freedom and fun... until you realize your only key is at the bottom of a lake/lost in the sand or woods or locked inside your car.

As a mobile locksmith, I’ve seen it happen more times than I can count. A lost or locked-in key can turn a perfect day into a stressful (and sometimes expensive) one. But there’s a simple way to avoid that: have a duplicate made in advance.

Loose pockets and lost keys – Swim trunks and sand don’t mix well with car keys. It’s easy for keys to slip out unnoticed at the beach, on a trail, or during a quick jump in the lake.

Remote lockouts = long waits – Getting locked out at a trailhead or boat launch can mean a long wait—especially if you’re far from the city. A spare key hidden safely or left with someone you trust can save the day.

Replacing keys isn’t always quick or cheap – Losing your only car key, especially for newer vehicles, can be a costly hassle. But making a spare ahead of time is fast, affordable, and saves you the stress.
